Münzenberg Forum Art Price for Blind, into the eye

“There are films that want to be seen. And there are films that ask us: What does it actually mean to see? Blind, into the eye belongs to the second kind. The film explores distance and an uncanny situation. Blind, ins Auge is a film about the gaze: about what we are able to see, what we do not want to see, and what we need to see."

With these words, the jury begins its statement on the award of second prize to Blind, ins Auge at the Münzenberg Forum Berlin.

We are very pleased to receive this recognition for a film that explores the act of looking and the peculiar conditions of seeing. Blind, ins Auge is a film about distance: the distance between ourselves and the images we encounter, between witnessing and looking away, between what becomes visible and what remains beyond our field of vision.
